Sherry Dumont’s love of words began in the third grade, sparked by a teacher who showed her the transformative power of stories—a passion that continues to fuel her work today. From crafting impactful messages in public affairs at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center to an international career as a model and commercial actress, Sherry has always been drawn to stories that connect and inspire. Even on global sets, her instincts as a storyteller emerged, refining scripts and shaping resonant messages behind the scenes. Her career evolved into award-winning work as a copywriter and PR professional, where she helped more than 60 brands enhance or establish their voice, and reinforce their authenticity. Today, as founder & CEO of Indigo 15, Sherry draws on 30 years of experience in brand strategy and storytelling. Whether concepting campaigns or guiding full-scale brand transformations, she approaches each project with a blend of strategic insight and creative intuition, ensuring every narrative inspires connection and drives results. In 2023, Sherry honored her late father's legacy by self-publishing his memoir, "Forest of Darkness," which chronicles his gripping account as a U.S. Special Forces solider and POW during the Vietnam conflict. This deeply personal project and her dedication to mentoring others earned her recognition as a Rochester Business Journal Women of Excellence honoree in 2024. Through every chapter of her journey, Sherry has remained passionate about the written word. To her, storytelling isn't just a profession; it's her calling. And she thrives on helping brands and individuals alike find their voice, share their unique stories and make an enduring impact.
Sherry's passion extends far beyond her work at Indigo 15. Inspired by the selfless mentors who shaped her journey, she's dedicated to paying that support forward. Whether mentoring, sharing her story of perseverance or dedicating her time to philanthropic causes that support women and historically marginalized communities, Sherry is driven by a desire to empower others. For her, success isn't just measured by personal achievements, but by the enduring, positive impact she has on those around her.

During the process of self-publishing her late father's memoir, "Forest of Darkness," Sherry received the greatest gift: the profound realization that she was walking in her true purpose. As she worked to preserve his powerful story of resilience and hope, Sherry saw how every step of her journey—every experience, challenge and lesson—had perfectly prepared her for this moment. It was a surreal experience that deepened her connection to both her father's legacy and her own calling as a storyteller.
Indigo 15 is proud to be a NYS Certified Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE), a designation that represents both opportunity and responsibility in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). For us, this certification is more than a credential—it’s a commitment to cultivating authentic partnerships with like-minded businesses and organizations who recognize the transformative power of inclusivity and view diversity not as an obligation, but as an opportunity and a powerful driver of innovation, new market potential and long-term success.
As an MWBE, we understand the unique challenges diverse businesses face—navigating complex procurement processes, demonstrating capabilities and securing meaningful contracts. We are deeply passionate about helping underrepresented businesses overcome systemic barriers and compete on a level playing field. Through strategic brand positioning and compelling storytelling, we empower MWBEs, SBEs and DBEs to amplify their value, establish credibility and win opportunities on the strength of their expertise and performance.
Partnering with Indigo 15 isn’t about fulfilling a contracting requirement or checking a box; it’s about embracing a shared vision for a more inclusive and equitable future—where progress is fueled by purpose and collaboration. After all, DEIB isn’t just what we support—it’s who we are.
At Indigo 15, we believe in B.R.A.V.E.—our guiding principles behind everything we do.
These pillars align with our North Star to help brands and individuals connect to their why, find their true voice and tell stories that connect and inspire. With a thoughtful blend of strategy, creativity and a dash of audacity, we strive to craft resonant narratives that break the mold and deliver real impact.
In 2020, amidst the pandemic and growing racial unrest in Rochester N.Y., Sherry co-founded Rochester Anti-Racism Action Coalition [RARAC], where she and her mission-driven team worked with organizations and community partners to facilitate impactful, interactive conversations that confronted privilege and biases, and fostered understanding. Through these uncomfortable yet necessary dialogues, RARAC helped create lasting change in the fight against structural, institutional and systemic racism.
